Head of the Children Education Department
Zahra Alizadeh is an experienced Farsi language teacher with a rich background in teaching both Farsi and English to students of various ages and levels across Iran, Germany, and the UK. With a first master’s degree in Persian Language and Literature (Iran) and a second in Childhood and Education in Diverse Societies (London), her academic focus has been on the role of supplementary schools, such as Farsi schools, within the broader UK education system.
Over the years, she has taught in both mainstream and supplementary schools, including Tarbiyat School (Iran), Rustam Supplementary School (London), and worked as a teaching assistant at Northside Primary School (UK). Zahra has delivered Farsi lessons from preschool to GCSE and A-Level, designing creative and interactive sessions tailored to her students’ needs. Zahra’s experience also includes teaching English in Germany (Phorms Education). She is passionate about culturally responsive education and deeply committed to preserving language through engaging teaching methods.
Head of the Adult Education Department
Alireza Sedighi has been teaching Persian Language and Literature for more than 20 years. He has taught students of different ages and levels from beginners to undergraduate. He started his job in 1993 teaching at a number of high Schools in Iran. After earning his PhD, he simultaneously engaged in research in the field of Persian language and literature while teaching at the university.
His main field of study is the Shahnama, (Book of kings) however he has published academic articles in Iranian contemporary fictions. َAlireza also writes stories; a collection of his short stories with the name “the Dust” (Gard va Khak) has been published in 2024.
He is currently teaching Persian Language at SOAS Language Centre and Centre for Promotion Persian Language and Literature. The role has given him the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with those adults eager to learn Persian at different levels.
